One of our designers Laura caught up with the last weekend of events and exhibitions at the London Design Festival.
She visited the New Modernists exhibition at Viaduct showroom and then continued to Shoreditch to see Typographica at Kemistry Gallery, Airmail at Idea Generation Gallery and also stumbled upon OKAY Studio´s Open Doors event.
The Design Museum held one of their Design Overtime events which coincided with the museum´s 20th birthday. The occasion called for live music and, most importantly, cake. The event was also the last chance to catch up with Super Contemporary showcasing London´s past and present visionary designers. At the top floor the museum had a well-designed retrospective of Spanish graphic designer and illustrator Javier Mariscal´s work.
The V&A held several exhibitions as part of the design festival. Pentagram brought together designers for The London Poster Project, fear and fantasy were interpreted in contemporary design at Telling Tales, and In Praise of Shadows explored "the designer’s response to lighting, shadow and efficiency".
