St David´s

Stills helps St David’s build on their success

St David´s is an exciting new development coming to the Capital City of Wales. The development once open in 2009 will enhance the existing shopping and city living in Cardiff.

As one of the most important city developments in the UK today and currently the largest private financial investment in Wales, the scheme builds on present assets including the existing St David´s Shopping Centre and much of the Hayes. The scheme is set to transform the Southern end of the City and give a currently underused area a new lease of life by creating attractive and safe public spaces for people to enjoy, alongside a unique and exciting contemporary retail space which caters to the needs of the 21st century shopper.

Stills are delighted to have been chosen by St David’s to provide essential marketing support to help communicate the details and importance of the project and what it means to Cardiff to the local and wider community. Stills Managing Director Chris Carpenter said “St David’s dominates the Cardiff skyline, there is no bigger development of this kind in Wales and we are very proud to be associated with it. The work has been challenging, especially producing and erecting the hundreds of meters of graphics that make up the hoarding boards”.

Stills have been responsible for developing the St David’s unique look and its application to hoarding boards, display areas and multi–media presentations. Chris goes on to say “the project is picking up pace and there is so much more to do. Consumers are thirsty for up to date information and it’s partly our job to support the St David’s team in delivering that”.

A St David’s spokesperson commented “the development is central to the future of Cardiff for a number of reasons. Not only will it bring significant investment to the area, alongside John Lewis, which is opening its first store in Wales through St David´s, we hope to secure a number of retailers to the city for the first time. Alongside other major developments in the Welsh capital, St David´s brings an outstanding opportunity to make a contribution to the emergence of Cardiff as a major European destination. Stills have been important in supporting us in communicating the detail of the project to residents of Cardiff and Wales”.
