We feel as though we’ve helped create a little piece of history after working on the interior of the iconic library building at the heart of the recently developed city centre.
Stills created the way finding and signage system that navigates users around the building. The signage is of course bilingual but something less apparent is that the braille has also been translated into Welsh.
In addition, Stills commissioned the artist who was tasked to create a suite of paintings produced onto large acoustic panels that help absorb sound.
As well as having fantastic facilities, the library is also a lovely place to chill out with a paper so it comes as no surprise to us that the building has won of a whole string of awards, the most recent being the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in Wales Sustainability Award and a 2010 RIBA Award. The list of accolades continues:
Phew! Hope the awards cabinet is big enough!
