MAINDEE PRIMARY SCHOOL

There was a problem. It was a seemingly simple one: can you redesign our logo? But as is the way with such a request, the answer lay a lot further away than it at first appeared. The school was suffering from a negative narrative due to a diverse ethnic mix, as well as dropping class numbers from a performance misconception.

We helped Emma Nolan, the School’s Head Teacher to define exactly what made the school special. We helped her to transform generic school messages into meaningful and positive statements about the school’s unique characteristics. And we transformed the school’s image to reflect those characteristics. As well as a new identity, we designed new literature, a new website and new signage to create a more vibrant and engaging environment within the school, replacing old dim strip lights with new ones and adding a splash of colour to dull and uninspiring corridors.

The new brand has helped Emma to build a strong and confident brand for the school, with a clear vision and direction to move its communications forward. It has created a platform to transform the school’s local reputation in a way which had previously been impossible. “It has helped to re-engage pupils and teachers alike, who now have a clearer understanding of what the school stands for and are proud to be a part of it.
